Learn what the Tipton County School’s Capstone experience can do for your students, your school, and your community.

All students need post-secondary education and training to succeed in today’s economy. These students can be valuable contributors to the workforce—but they need to be shown the way. That’s the goal of the Tipton County Capstone Experience:  to create workforce-ready students. Through this semester-long pilot program, taught by teacher-by-committee, 30 students can learn, grow, and discover the career path that’s right for them.

Section 2: Career Investigation

Some students aren’t even sure what they want to do after they earn their high school diplomas. The Capstone Experience, a workforce development class, exposes them to it all. Sessions are led by speakers from all types of local industries—manufacturing, science, technology, medicine, police, and much more. They tell the students like it is, explaining job goals and conditions and sharing what it takes to be a success in their field.

Section 3: Various Education Offers

Students also hear from four-year universities, community colleges, and vocational schools, providing them with insight into which educational option is right for them. At the end of the course, students take the Career Readiness Certification test, allowing them to measure their skill levels and individually gauge what they’re ready to tackle once they graduate.
